welcome to my first official blog post! My name is Sam, and I love all things food. My passion for testing and creating my own recipes came with my discovery of the plant-based diet. This discovery ignited a flame of curiosity and excitement within me. That’s when I began my culinary journey 2 years ago, and I found cooking to be very therapeutic and didn’t want it to remain a hobby. I’ve always loved eating and discovering ‘new to me’ cuisines, but I had no clue that becoming a chef was my calling until recently.

I’m starting this blog as a way to document the development of my culinary skills and to show that the process is just as important as the end result. As one of my influencers, Julia Child said,

“No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.”

I live by these words in almost every aspect of my learning and discovering experiences so that when I fail at anything I keep trying until I nail it.

One of my biggest inspirations for this blog is the ‘Hot For Food blog’ by Lauren Toyota, she’s an accomplished home-cook and she even has her own cookbook called Hot for Food Vegan Comfort Classics: 101 Recipes to Feed Your Face’. I wish to follow in her footsteps and become as successful as she is one day. (And maybe even open a successful plant-based restaurant…)

And that’s where I’m choosing to end this Biography, not only because I’ve run out of things to say about myself… But also because the picture of the Reuben is making me hangry.
